The Lalbagh bench

Namma hudga had stopped hoping. He had made his peace with being just a friend.

So they just kept meeting. A By/2 chocolate milkshake. Slow walks around the Lalbagh lake. Long talks sitting on the old Lalbagh rock, watching the city below.

ನಮ್ ಹುಡ್ಗ ಆಸೆನೇ ಬಿಟ್ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ. ಫ್ರೆಂಡ್ ಆಗೇ ಇರೋಣ ಅಂತ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸ್ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ.

ಹಾಗೇ ಭೇಟಿ ಆಗ್ತಾನೇ ಇದ್ರು. ಬೈ ಟು ಚಾಕೊಲೇಟ್ ಮಿಲ್ಕ್‌ಶೇಕ್. ಲಾಲ್‌ಬಾಗ್ ಕೆರೆ ಸುತ್ತ ನಿಧಾನದ ವಾಕ್. ಹಳೇ ಲಾಲ್‌ಬಾಗ್ ಬಂಡೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂತು, ಕೆಳಗೆ ಊರು ನೋಡ್ತಾ ಗಂಟೆಗಟ್ಲೆ ಮಾತು.

The bench

Then one evening, on a bench in Lalbagh, namma hudgi turned to him and said it: I love you. I'll only love you, for life.

He didn't say anything. He couldn't. His silence was the yes.

A tight hug. And in his head, the sky broke into stars and fireworks. He wanted to run up the Lalbagh rock and shout to the whole city: Thank you, God. I love you, my girl.

That's zabardast. Spectacular.

ಆ ಬೆಂಚ್

ಆಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ಸಂಜೆ, ಲಾಲ್‌ಬಾಗ್‌ನ ಒಂದು ಬೆಂಚ್ ಮೇಲೆ, ನಮ್ ಹುಡ್ಗಿ ಅವನ ಕಡೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೇಳೇಬಿಟ್ಲು: ಐ ಲವ್ ಯು. ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನ ಮಾತ್ರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸ್ತೀನಿ, ಜೀವನ ಪೂರ್ತಿ.

The perfume

Zabardast opens with vanilla and orchid, sweet like that chocolate milkshake. Its heart is tonka bean and jasmine, the warmth of that hug. It settles into sugar, amber, musk and patchouli: a celebration that keeps glowing long after the fireworks.

ಜಬರ್ದಸ್ತ್ ಶುರು ಆಗೋದು ವೆನಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮತ್ತೆ ಆರ್ಕಿಡ್‌ನಿಂದ, ಆ ಚಾಕೊಲೇಟ್ ಮಿಲ್ಕ್‌ಶೇಕ್ ತರ ಸಿಹಿ. ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಟೊಂಕಾ ಬೀನ್ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ, ಆ ಅಪ್ಪುಗೆಯ ಬೆಚ್ಚನೆ. ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಸಕ್ಕರೆ, ಅಂಬರ್, ಮಸ್ಕ್, ಪ್ಯಾಚುಲಿ: ಪಟಾಕಿ ಮುಗಿದ ಮೇಲೂ ಹೊಳೀತಾನೇ ಇರೋ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ.
