Our story

Where it began

From the age of 12 to 21, nearly ten years of my growing up were spent in incense: making agarbatti, standing by the batches as they dried, and selling them across towns and markets. That smell of a fresh batch never left me. Scent, I learned early, is not just a product. It's the thing that takes you straight back to a moment you thought you'd forgotten.

After that, life was a rollercoaster: work, different paths, trying many things. Through all of it, fragrance kept calling me back. Sakkat Kathe is me coming back to my roots, this time to bottle the moments themselves.

Why Kannada

Our perfumes are named the way we actually talk: Ee Sanje, Haage Summane, Yen Maaye Idu. Not translated French, not borrowed names. Every bottle carries a kathe, a real Kannada memory of first looks, evening rides, a first hug and a sky full of fireworks.

The craft

Each perfume is an Eau de Parfum, blended in India and made in Bengaluru, built around one story and one feeling. Every perfume is unisex, because a memory doesn't belong to one kind of person.

The art: one brushstroke

Our labels are painted in the spirit of sumi-e, the Japanese art of ink painting: a few strokes, a wash of colour, and a lot of empty paper. A scent works the same way. It gives you one stroke of a memory, and you fill in the rest.

A sumi-e stroke is never painted over, so each perfume got one painting, one feeling, and its name in Kannada alone. Read more about the art →
